The DenteMax Medicare network has grown to more than 79,960 approved dentist access points and is built on the foundation of the commercial DenteMax network.

"Dental insurers and third party benefit administrators can feel confident about leasing our network as it offers their members access and savings while complying with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services," said Mike Miller, vice president of dental networks.

"DenteMax has gone the extra mile and applied CMS requirements generally used for medical doctors to dentists in our network. The end result of adhering to all applicable CMS standards is the largest, seamless dental-only Medicare compliant network."

According to a February 2009 report by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, only about half of all seniors have visited the dentist within the past year. Diabetes and heart disease are increasingly common with older adults and are often linked to periodontal disease. Good oral health can help prevent complications with these overall health problems.

Adding the DenteMax Medicare dental network to a qualified Medicare product provides access to dental care at a reduced cost that seniors might not otherwise seek. Using the expanded network also provides an opportunity for improvement to overall health and a possible reduction in health care costs. For these reasons, DenteMax can assist in differentiating carriers in the health-care reform era.
