ATLANTA, Georgia--The Thomas P. Hinman Dental Meeting, a leading dental meeting and source of continuing education in dentistry, will host its centennial meeting March 22-24, 2012.

The 100th Hinman will feature more than 65 dental experts, more than 250 courses--including 50 hands-on workshops--all-day educational tracks for dentists, dental hygienists, assistants, and office staff, and nearly 400 companies demonstrating the latest in dentistry.

At least 23,000 dental professionals are expected to attend the 100th meeting held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be celebrating the 100th Hinman and in honor of this special occasion," said Dr. Allen French, general chairman of the 2012 Hinman Dental Meeting.

"We have lined up an impressive roster of speakers, innovative exhibits, and the parties of the century. What started as a study club in 1912 has grown to become one of the preeminent dental meetings in the country with a 100-year legacy of excellence.”

Continuing education program
Hinman’s 2012 continuing education program will feature more than 65 nationally renowned clinicians and leaders in the field of dentistry and more than 250 lectures and workshops, a quarter of which are participation courses.

New this year to Hinman is a three-day educational track, “Emerging Dentist’s Survival Guide,” designed for new dentists and dental students. Courses will be held from 1 to 4 p.m March 22; from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 23; and from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 24.

The “Business Fast Track” returns in 2012 and offers eight courses held on March 22 and March 23. Also returning for a third year are the all-day educational tracks designed specifically for dental hygienists, dental assistants, and business office staff.

“Prevention Convention,” from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 22 and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 23 is for hygienists; “Assisting Extravaganza,” from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 23 is for dental assistants; and “Business Office Bonanza,” from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. also on March 23 is for office staff. All three full-day tracks feature six, 50-minute lectures and cover a range of topics geared to the dental staff member.

In addition, the 2012 meeting will offer attendees a range of topics from which to choose, daily ADAA courses, online handouts available in advance of the meeting, and a computerized CE process to eliminate lines at the end of courses.

“For the past 100 years, Hinman has provided quality continuing education for dental professionals, and has delivered on its promise to inspire attendees on every level,” said Dr. French. “The centennial Hinman brings together the best in education, exhibits, and entertainment.”
