VERSAILLES, Ohio – With a motto, “See it. Believe it,” Midmark launched its new LED Operatory Light at the Chicago Dental Society’s Midwinter Meeting.
“As we transition from halogen to LED, we continue to maintain our value proposition of high-end operatory lighting that facilitates dental procedures and accuracy,” said Matt McLaughlin, Midmark senior product manager, Dental Operatory Products. “Our new LED Operatory Light is no exception.”
The LED Operatory Light provides the true, reduced shadow white light needed to properly identify shades, see details, and diagnose tissue. It offers a select feathered edge to minimize eye strain caused by sharp edges with high contrast differences.
Structurally, the light boasts an ergonomic design that offers complete control, with pull, tilt and twist options, as well as easy access to the touchpad. An automatic motion controlled on/off function can be set on the touchpad with the simple touch of a button.
The touchpad control also provides three intensity adjustments and a composite safe setting to prevent premature curing. Whereas similar LED lights on the market reduce the amount of composite curing light, Midmark’s LED uses filters to remove the 470 mm blue light that cures composites.
In addition to delivering composite safe lighting, the LED light also offers significant cost savings. The light uses 50% of the energy of the market-leading LED dental lights, and more than 80% less than halogen dental lights.
Says McLaughlin, “The new LED Operatory Light simplifies use of the light and minimizes fatigue, time, and motion. It utilizes cutting-edge LED technology to provide the ultimate in dental lighting.”
The new LED Operatory Light can be retrofitted onto any existing Midmark dental chair package.
