A recent study of dental anxiety and phobia reveals that women in their forties are more likely to experience dental anxiety than any other age group.

A recent study from the University of Sydney of dental anxiety and phobia reveals that women in their forties are more likely to experience dental anxiety than any other age group. They are most likely to have perceived a traumatic dental experience, abuse, and oro-facial trauma. These women are also more likely to have higher levels of depression, general anxiety, or suffer from stress.

The case-control study — now in its fifth year — aims to improve dental management for patients with dental fears and phobias.
