Massad Telly Awards

TULSA, Oklahoma—For the third consecutive year, Tulsa dentist Joseph Massad, DDS, has been honored as a recipient of the prestigious Telly Awards for his accomplishments in video production.The awards make him an eight-time Telly Award winner. Since 1979, Telly Awards have been presented to those demonstrating outstanding achievements in local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs; in video and film productions; and in Web-based commercials, videos, and films. Related information, click here.Considered the premiere award of its kind, the Telly Awards competition attracts more than 11,000 entries each year from production companies, advertising agencies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in all 50 states and from around the world. Entries are scrutinized by a national panel of judges and then rated on a 10-point scale. In 2012, the first of Dr. Massad’s two bronze Telly Awards (receiving a score of 7.0 to 8.9 points) recognized his achievements in the Use of Animation of the instructional DVD entitled “Oral-B SmartSeries 5000.” As the producer/director of the DVD presentation, Dr. Massad illustrates his published techniques for patients using the “smart toothbrush” to clean their dental implant-supported prosthetic appliances. The second 2012 Telly Award, bestowed in the education category, commended Dr. Massad as writer/producer/director of the online “DentalLibrary” (Dentallibrary.com). Described by Dr. Massad as a labor of love that he developed and nurtured from concept to completion, this educational channel serves as the new portal for video Web-based learning of “all things dentistry." “It’s always an honor to be recognized, but this year’s awards are especially meaningful,” Dr. Massad said, noting that his entries were judged alongside those of multiple industries outside dentistry.
