Want to be more effective and efficient at promoting your practice’s Facebook page to acquire new patient referrals? Building your page is only half the challenge. Now you need to start telling people about your Facebook presence if you want to start interacting with patients and growing your referral network.

Here are three simple steps to help you get started:

1. Involve your staff.

Chances are that most of your staff members and even colleagues have their own personal Facebook pages. Following the launch of your practice page, simply inform your employees and friends about your new social presence, and ask them to “Like” the page. You’ll instantly gain a plethora of fans who can start interacting with you and your patients.

2. Ask current patients — don’t be shy!

Staff can also play a major role in promoting your new social media presence by letting your patients know about your Facebook page. As patients leave their appointments, your front desk team can simply tell patients about your new page. Ask patients to “Like” the page for office news, special promotions, and other important information that will keep them connected between appointments.

3. Integrate with other marketing.

Don’t forget to add the Facebook URL and Like Us button to all of your other marketing materials, such as newsletters, website, business cards, appointment reminder cards, and email signatures. You should also consider creating a professional display sign for your front desk or waiting room that will notify patients of your page. In doing so, you will be generating awareness for your social media presence 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
