GRAND HAVEN, MICH. – CompositeSmart launched the SmartView Sectional Matrix System, which uses new technology to create systems that simplify, are easier to use, and last longer than those currently on the market.

“We took a close look at the difficulties dentists were having with traditional sectional matrix systems on the market and knew there had to be a better way,” says John Boos, founder and CEO of CompositeSmart. “Matrix band tabs would tear during removal. Planer or flat matrix rings had a tendency of springing off mid procedure, were hard to open, and became deformed after a short period of time. Plastic reinforcement and nickel titanium had been used to help mitigate some of these issues but the root cause was never addressed. Our new system offers a real solution.”

The SmartView Sectional Matrix System uses a retainer that works more like a like a spring or “clip.” Instead of bending, the SmartView Clip twists, evenly distributing forces throughout the device, making it much more robust and easier to place. Because most of the SmartView clip operates at the gingival margin, forces are directed perpendicular to the tooth and down, virtually eliminating “spring-offs” mid procedure. In addition to a more resilient disposition, the SmartView Clip doubles as a rubber dam clamp. This translates into fewer steps, less clutter, and with two devices combined into one, an overall better value.

The sectional matrix bands have a non-stick surface, the shape is anatomically contoured, and a reinforced placement tab has been incorporated for easier removal and placement. Instruments are made of high-grade titanium and tinted blue to make them easier to identify on an instrument tray.

As a key part of his leadership style, Boos brings a network of key players to his team — dentists committed to product development, and high level dental sales and marketing professionals who are driven to provide top-tier support for both the end-users and distributor partners. Additionally, all of the company’s products and components are manufactured in the U.S. For more information visit www.compositesmart.com.
