Oral Health America continues national communications campaign.

CHICAGO, Illinois—Oral Health America’s annual Fall for Smiles campaign encourages American families to keep their mouths healthy by brushing and flossing, visiting the dentist regularly, making healthy food choices, and avoiding tobacco.

The campaign began in September 2012 and runs through October 2012 and features several ways for dental professionals and the general public to get involved. This campaign was aided by the support of dental companies, associations and organizations, including Hu-Friedy and OralDNA Labs.

Hu-Friedy sponsored the 2012 children’s coloring sheet that was distributed to more than 100,000 dental offices across the county. Hu-Friedy also sponsored an internal coloring contest among employee’s children (or nieces, nephews, grandchildren) appointing the company's graphic design team to choose the winning artists.

Winners received a plush Nevi doll and had their art displayed on Hu-Friedy’s Pinterest page.

"Hu-Friedy is proud to partner with the third annual Fall for Smiles campaign because it aims to educate the public about the importance of maintaining good oral health," said Patrick Bernardi, vice president, Global Brand Marketing and Communications at Hu-Friedy.

"We believe that one of the ways to help dental professionals serve at their best is through the education of the communities and patients they serve."

OralDNA Labs also sponsored the campaign and helped put on a Fall for Smiles webinar that educated community leaders about Fall for Smiles and provided education about salivary diagnostics.

"Fall for Smiles features a message that is important for all Americans to hear--to maintain good oral health even during tough economic times to avoid more expensive problems in the future," said Victoria Richards, director of cmmunications and training at OralDNA Labs.

"OralDNA happily sponsored a webinar to help spread that message and help participants learn more about the campaign."

Added Beth Truett, president & CEO, Oral Health America: “Without the support of our sponsors, including Hu-Friedy and OralDNA Labs, Fall for Smiles would not be possible."

“We are honored that they chose to support OHA’s mission to change lives by connecting communities with resources to increase access to oral health care, education and advocacy for all Americans, especially those most vulnerable.”
