Dental industry news: Mourning the loss of Dr. James Crawford, pioneer of dental infection control

The dental industry is mourning the loss of Dr. James Joseph Crawford, one of the “fathers in dental infection control.”

In a statement from OSAP (Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention), executive director Therese Long said, "Jim wanted to take microbiology out of the basic textbook and make it relevant and useful to the dentist. He certainly succeeded as his landmark 'If Saliva Were Red' is a concept that transcends language and offers an visual lesson that no one who has ever seen it forgets."
