PEW Report says dentist shortage will lead to more woesA

A report released today by the Pew Charitable Trusts does not paint a pretty picture of the oral health care shortage in the U.S. There are currently 45 milllion Americans living in areas without enough dentists, and it is expected that the shortage will only grow.

According to the report, "This lack of access to dental care is a complex problem fueled by a number of factors, with two different dentist shortagles compounding the issue."

It goes on to say, "...new data show thatmore than 14 million children enrolled in Medicaid did not receive any dental service in 2011."
