Lompoc, CA, July 26, 2013: DenMat is pleased to announce that it has committed to sponsoring The Gathering IV, an exclusive wine and food pairing event to be held on August 17, 2013 at the Sogno del Fiore Wine Club in Santa Ynez, CA. The event benefits JDRF (formerly Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), the global leader in type 1 diabetes research.

DenMat unveils new global headquarters

“DenMat has been part of the Central Coast community in California for forty years,” said Robert Cartagena, Chief Operating Officer of DenMat Holdings, LLC. “When we were given the opportunity to participate in a local event to help raise money for JDRF, we knew that we wanted be part of this fantastic cause.” According to JDRF, there are over 26 million Americans with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, diseases which can lead to debilitating and sometimes fatal outcomes. Each year, 30,000 new cases of type 1 diabetes are diagnosed in the United States alone. 15,000 of those new cases are children. “DenMat is proud to join the effort to eradicate type 1 diabetes,” Cartagena went on to say.

In its 4th year, The Gathering is held each August and brings together the California Central Coast’s best and brightest from the wine and culinary worlds to craft a tasting event like no other. The Gathering is once again being hosted by the Sogno del Fiore Wine Club in Santa Ynez. Sogno del Fiore means “dream of the flower” in Italian. Owners and event organizers, Jerry and Liz Fiore, create a memorable evening; magically transporting attendees to the wine-studded hills of Italy. Per the Club’s motto, “Friends of Friends” are invited to enjoy this charmed evening amidst the lovely gardens and vineyards that mark the property. Complete with flourishes like Italian performers traversing the tables in full costume, the true highlight of the evening is its purpose; to raise money for research that will lead to a cure for Type 1 diabetes (T1D).
