Mitsui Chemicals completes acquisition of Heraeus Kulzer

As of July 1, 2013 Japanese firm Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (MCI) has officially completed the acquisition of Heraeus Kulzer GmbH, the dental division of German-based precious metal and technology company Heraeus Holding.
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, August 1, 2013 — As of July 1, 2013 Japanese firm Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (MCI) has officially completed the acquisition of Heraeus Kulzer GmbH, the dental division of German-based precious metal and technology company Heraeus Holding. MCI and Heraeus Holding announced the planned takeover of Heraeus Kulzer on April 4, 2013.

MCI will absorb all 1,400-plus employees in 20 global locations and maintain the existing management structure of the Hanau, Germany-based dental company, which will continue to do business under the name Heraeus Kulzer. This strategic acquisition will allow MCI to significantly expand its international activities in thedental sector. By working closely with Mitsui, which has an extensive track record in research and development, Heraeus Kulzer aims to build on its outstanding reputation for innovative solutions for dental practices and laboratories.
