Dental assistants: Recognize your success!

Feb. 19, 2014
Dental Assistants' Recognition Weeks is March 2-8

Dental Assistants Recognition Week (DARW) is just around the corner. The weeklong observance — from March 2-8 — is hosted by the American Dental Association, the American Dental Assistants Association, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Canadian Dental Assistants Association.

DARW is a time to recognize the achievements and contributions of dental assistants. This year’s theme is “Dental assisting: embracing the changes of the profession” – and it certainly is appropriate. For many years, we have seen exciting changes in the field, with dental assistants playing a key role on the dental team. Some assistants have advanced in their careers to perform expanded functions, while others have chosen to move into dental assisting education or consulting, work for a dental product manufacturer or distributor, or perhaps hold a front office or dental practice management position.
