NEW PARTNERSHIP TO SUPPORT VOLUNTEER DENTAL SERVICES PROGRAM

Sacramento, Calif. — The California Dental Association Foundation announced today that it has received a $50,000 donation from The Del E. Webb Foundation. The donation will be used to fund the CDA Cares volunteer dental program, which provides cleanings, fillings, extractions, and oral health education at no charge to Californians who experience barriers to care.

“Organizations like The Del E. Webb Foundation are extremely important to the success of CDA Cares and we are forever grateful,” said Don Rollofson, DMD, chair of the CDA Foundation. “Because of their philanthropic commitments, we will be able serve patients across California who need oral health care the most.”

The main mission of The Del E. Webb Foundation is to provide direct support to qualified organizations for qualified charitable purposes in the areas of medical services, research, and education. “The only things we do in this life that matter are the things we do for each other,” said Larry Johnson, president of The Del E. Webb Foundation. “CDA Cares fits perfectly with our vision of serving a large number of people with a small amount of money.”

The next CDA Cares clinic will be held April 25-26 in Solano County, followed by Pomona, Nov. 21-22.

The CDA Cares volunteer dental program has provided $6 million in care to more than 8,000 Californians since 2012. CDA Cares seeks to relieve pain and infection in patients and educate the public and policymakers about the importance of good oral health. It also advocates an adequately funded dental safety net, including a state dental director who can develop programs to improve the oral health of Californians.
