Crest + Oral-B has announced another winner of the Pros in the Profession awards program, which celebrates the efforts of Registered Dental Hygienists (RDHs) working to further oral health causes.

Amy Kinnamon, RDH, of Jackson, OH, was announced as the most recent winner in a press release today. Amy was cited as having "exemplified the qualities of a true Pro in the Profession by going above and beyond her daily duties in making a difference in the lives of her community."

Kinnamon received her degree from Shawnee State University and has practiced in Athens, Ohio, for the last 17 years.

“Last year I was invited to the U.S. National Oral Health Alliance due to my research concerning ways to increase compliance in dental care amongst Appalachian children," Amy said. "This year, I have the honor of giving a continuing education course concerning my research at Ohio’s dental hygienist total development weekend. This has been a career goal of mine since returning to my hometown in Appalachia almost 20 years ago.”

The Crest + Oral-B Pros in the Profession program is in its third year. The program recognizes extraordinary hygienists for their commitment to improving oral health. The program also acknowledges the pivotal role hygienists play in their patients’ lives. Past recipients of the award include Michelle Vacha, Heather Steich, and Mallory Edmondson.

As a winner, Amy will receive an all-expense paid trip to the Procter & Gamble German Innovation Center at Kronberg, Germany; a $1,000 monetary prize; a recognition plaque; and acknowledgment in dental periodicals on dentalcare.com.
