An additional half-day workshop for educators is scheduled for Oct. 19, 2014, which is available to all conference participants, and for those who wish to attend the workshop separately. Dental hygienists from around the world will share their original research, and invited speakers will present new research related to oral cancer, tobacco addiction and cessation interventions, prevention and quality assurance, interdisciplinary health care, health literacy, and advances in technology to improve global oral health. Workshops, small group discussions, and breakout sessions will be offered to enhance skill development, encourage networking, and foster project development. Training programs will be available for all levels of investigators, from the newcomer to the expert. Special sessions are devoted to clinicians who wish to use best practices to enhance patient care.

Dental professionals representing all settings within the discipline are welcome to attend. Registration is limited, and participants are encouraged to register early. Abstracts are currently being accepted through March 31 for both poster and oral presentations showcasing original research. Please note that abstracts presented at other meetings can be submitted. Also, there is a category for research in progress.
