DANB recognizes orthodontic assistants

Oct. 24, 2014
In honor of National Orthodontic Health Month, congratulations to the more than 1,400 dental assistants who hold DANB’s Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA) certification.

In honor of National Orthodontic Health Month, the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB) would like to recognize the more than 1,400 dental assistants who hold DANB’s Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA) certification.

DANB’s COA certification is made up of two component exams: Orthodontic Assisting (OA) and Infection Control (ICE). DANB’s COA certification meets orthodontic assistant requirements in Maryland, New Jersey and Oregon, and DANB’s ICE exam meets state requirements for infection control in Iowa, New York and North Dakota. In total, 38 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Air Force and the Department of Veterans Affairs recognize or require DANB exams for dental assisting practice.

With DANB’s exam fees scheduled to increase in 2016, now is the time to earn COA certification!

If you’re ready get to started, DANB’s COA exam blueprints and exam reference materials can help you create a study plan.
