Smile Drive dentists to receive national recognition

Jan. 6, 2015
National Children’s Dental Health Month is fast approaching in February, which means America’s ToothFairy Smile Drivewill collect oral care products for at-risk children.

This February, which is National Children’s Dental Health Month, you are invited to join caring dental professionals across the country for the America’s ToothFairy Smile Drive – a national campaign to raise oral health awareness and collect oral care products for at-risk children.

Dental practices that collect and donate a minimum of 100 oral care products will receive a certificate, be recognized on the National Smile Drive Directory with a link to their practice website, and receive a promotional toolkit that includes donation box labels, event flyers, press release templates, content for patient newsletters, and more. The dental practice that collects the most oral care products will receive a plaque for in-office display, be eligible for recognition in local and national media, and win prizes from leading dental companies.

America’s ToothFairy: National Children’s Oral Health Foundation (NCOHF) launched its first Smile Drive in February 2014 in collaboration with Walmart, an America’s ToothFairy underwriter, and the Kid’s Crestand Oral-B Stages products at Walmart. More than 430,000 oral care products were collected and distributed to vulnerable children, many of whom had been sharing a toothbrush with siblings, using the same toothbrush for years, or didn’t have one at all.

Six-year old Kylie was thrilled when she received her very own toothbrush from last year's drive. "I always wanted to have my very own toothbrush so I could brush my teeth like the other kids every day,” she said. “Now I can!"

Oral care products collected through the 2015 Smile Drive can be personally delivered by practice staff to a preferred local charity – a great opportunity for media coverage from a local television station or newspaper.

The America’s ToothFairy Smile Drive is made possible with support from the Invisalign brand, a pioneer in the invisible orthodontics market that has created healthy, beautiful smiles for more than 2.7 million patients, and continued support from Walmart.
