Feb. 26, 2015
There are tools that will help you achieve success on social media, and Dr. Ken Newhouse, the "official growth hacker for the dental professoinal worldwide, shares tips in this infographic. I
If you’re like most dentists, you’ve likely concluded that using social media to generate quality new patient traffic isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. After reviewing hundreds of campaigns that dentists are using on social media to generate new patient traffic, I’d have to agree, if I didn’t know better.

If you’ve been using social media to generate more new patient traffic and are not getting the results you’d hoped for, I’ve got great news for you. The news is especially good if you’re looking for a proven method for getting more new patients from Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and other social media sites like Tumblr.

One of the most important keys to being able to consistently generate quality new patient traffic from social media is to use content that people want to read. What kind of content are your patients looking for? I can tell (guarantee) you that the majority of people you’ll attract into your practice won’t be looking for articles on dental implants or teeth whitening.

Social media is about building relationships with people, and that starts with building trust. If all you’re doing is shoveling out garbage articles about your practice, your services, your equipment, or your training, then you’re never going to win at social media.

If you want to attract massive numbers of eyeballs on social media, then your content has to be what “people” (i.e., “your prospective patients”) want to read most. By doing this, and you’re avoiding strictly dental content, you’ll attract more users to your website and be seen as different from every other dentist around you!

You’ll be seen as interesting, and this will make people want to know more about you. I’m not telling you to stop using quality dental articles, but you’ve got to stop using social media like every other dentist if you want to be successful. Here’s how to get started kicking butt and taking names (i.e., the names of quality new patients that) and getting your content shared like crazy!

Take a look at the infographic below from Growth Hacker Centralthat shows you the words that get shared most on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest, and the blogging site Tumblr. The infographic also gives you four additional bonus tips on how to use those words to magnetically attract the highest-quality new patient traffic!
