Control Seal is the first highly filled sealant that comes in a clear shade, allowing for easy diagnostics and excellent wear resistance in one product. Due to Voco’s advanced nano technology, Control Seal achieves a very high filler degree — at 55% by weight — but still possesses the flow characteristics of a superior sealant. Control Seal’s nano-fillers allow its shade to remain clear, which offers practitioners an advantage during visual check-ups on the sealant.

In addition, the transparency of Control Seal allows for the usage of laser fluorescence diagnostic methods — an improvement in patient care, diagnosis, and monitoring when concern areas are located underneath the sealant. With the transparent shade of Control Seal, clinicians can avoid the false positives that are common withlaser fluorescence devices and opaque sealants.

Voco’s light-cured, nano-composite-based Control Seal is designed to seal pits and fissures, seal damaged enamel surfaces, cover predilection sites (e.g., within the scope of orthodontic treatments), and seal resin-based or glass ionomer restorations as a protective layer against moisture. Control Seal is also indicated for sealing deciduous teeth and as an extended fissure sealant.

Unlike many other transparent fissure sealants, Control Seal’s physical properties include good compressive strength and high flexural strength, in addition to low levels of shrinkage and abrasion. Control Seal is available in the non-running NDT syringe, which guarantees a uniform flow with simple administration.
