“The power and ability to rise above your circumstances and achieve the results you desire resides within you!”—The Oz Principle
Editor Edie Gibson, RDH, MS
The Oz Principle is a must-read book for 2018. I’ve read it twice and still refer to it often. It talks about getting results through accountability and operating “above the line.” What does that look like exactly? Think…The Wizard of Oz!
Are you operating “above the line” or “below the line”? Above the line is accountability and below the line is where we play the “Blame Game.” In The Oz Principle, the authors lay out four simple steps to ensure you always operate “above the line”—“See It, Own It, Solve It, and Do It.”
- See It—Recognize and acknowledge the situation
- Own It—Accept responsibility
- Solve It—change your reality and find a solution
- Do It—follow through with solution
This type of thought process is empowering and powerful. You can change your reality and, through that change, affect change in others. When Dorothy followed the Wizard’s solution to her dilemma and clicked her ruby slippers three times, she was magically transported back to Kansas. The Wizard always operated above the line. I encourage you to read The Oz Principle and become your very own Wizard!
Happy Holidays and cheers to healthy, happy, and prosperous 2018!
Cherish that thought and…
Go out and MAKE it a great day!
