New general counsel appointed for ADA

Tamra Kempf to lead American Dental Association's legal affairs.

CHICAGO--The American Dental Association has announced the appointment of Tamra S. Kempf to be general counsel and associate executive director of its Legal Affairs Division.

Kempf has served the ADA for nine years, with her most recent position as associate general counsel.

Prior to joining the ADA, she held positions in both the public and private sectors, including the Federal Trade Commission, gaining significant experience in antitrust law.

Subsequently, she held partnerships at two prominent Chicago law firms Peterson & Ross, and Bell, Boyd and Lloyd that included serving as an outside counsel to the ADA. Her practice included litigation and counseling on healthcare, antitrust, employment and copyright matters.

"As a member of our legal staff, Ms. Kempf demonstrated exceptional leadership and judgment and made significant contributions to the ADA and its members," says James B. Bramson, DDS, ADA executive director. "We are very pleased to see her assume the role of ADA's general counsel.

Kempf earned her law degree and a master's degree in economics from the University of Miami, Fla. She completed her undergraduate work at Knox College, Galesburg, Ill.
