The new organization, the International Society for Digital Dentistry, was founded at the beginning of 2010 in Duesseldorf, Germany. The society is directed toward dentists and dental technicians around the world, as well as people from fields outside dentistry that have become important for the dental sector due to increasing permeation of technology. The activities of the society are focused on the international valorization of the scientifically based digital dentistry, dental laboratory technology, and their integration within the field of prevention, diagnostics, and therapy. Due to the international orientation potential, know-how and global conclusions will be bundled within the society.Furthermore, the society is committed to enhance the scientifically based odontology, oral and maxillofacial research, as well as technical technologies. The worldwide publication of the conclusions has high priority on the society’s agenda. Members of the ISDD benefit, for example, from a varied vocational training and continuing education program and a network for digital dentistry and dental technology.Interested persons can submit their declaration of membership online at the society’s Web site at www.isdd-online.net.
