A dentist from Maryland, Edward Gamson, is suing British Airways for a mistaken trip that he says ended up costing $34,000.
Gamson thought he had booked a first-class ticket to Granada, Spain, from London, but was surprised to see the plane heading west instead of south. He then asked the flight attendant about the direction and received some unwelcome news.

Grenada, where the plane was actually heading, is a Caribbean island about 4,000 miles away from Spain.
Gamson, who made his reservation over the phone, claims that he told the booking agent he was going to Spain. Although British Airways offered Gamson and his travel partner $376 each and 50,000 miles, Gamson is suing for the cost of rebooking an unintended trip.
This isn’t the first time this has happened to a passenger. Lesson learned: book online.
