Dr. Gordon Christensen answers questions from readers and offers his answers based on research, dentists' opinions worldwide, and personal observation.

In this week's video, Dr. Christensen said that the short answer is yes, there are good matrices for Class IV resins and resin veneers. He shows photos of the "normal" thickness for a matrix, which is .002 inches, and he mentions Ho Dental, which produces one that is 9 microns thick. This is available because sometimes dentists need a very thin matrix. Directa Company also produces angular 2,000th of an inch thick matrices that can be used for Class IVs. And he gives further examples.

Many dentists use simply standard matrices, and Dr. Christensen realizes there are many ways to do this. Simply put, direct resin veneers are a great practice builder, and developing the best way for your office to handle them is good for business.
