STATDDS offers assistance with 2015 Medicare enrollment

Aug. 25, 2014
Doctors who prescribe Part D covered medications must either enroll in Medicare Part B or opt out by June 2015.

In May, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services published a final rule requiring all qualified health-care professionals — including dentists — who prescribe Part D-covered medications to either enroll in Medicare Part B or opt out by June 2015. This application process can take months, so dentists need to start the process now in order to comply with this ruling.

“The decision-making process needs to begin immediately, and choices made now will affect dental professionals and their practices for years to come," said American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE) president, Dr. Louis Malcmacher. "The right decision will greatly expand your practice and attract many more new patients, and the wrong decision will drive your Medicare patients away, resulting in lost production." To streamline the process, the AAFE has partnered with STATDDS to provide dental professionals assistance with Medicare enrollment services. STATDDS is currently offering special pricing on enrollment for Part B Medicare, as well as DME enrollment for dentists practicing dental sleep medicine. The AAFE is offering an on-demand course titled “Medicare and Medical Insurance Billing for Every Dental Practice.” This course is designed to explain fundamental areas of Medicare and medical insurance billing and its integration into dental practices. With this education, dentists can make the right choice for this very important practice management decision.
