HealthFirst acquires Sav-A-Life's emergency medical kit business

Sept. 23, 2014
HealthFirst will immediately assume responsibility for Sav-A-Life product and service maintenance, along with all Sav-A-Life customer support.
HealthFirst, a provider of compliance products and emergency medical kits for dental practices, announced today that it has acquired the Sav-A-Life emergency medical kit business from Young Innovations, Inc. Sav-A-Life maintains the emergency medical kits of over 5,000 US-based dental practices on both a subscription and à la carte basis.

The combined operations will continue together under the name HealthFirst. HealthFirst will immediately assume responsibility for Sav-A-Life product and service maintenance, along with all Sav-A-Life customer support. All Sav-A-Life subscribers will now have complimentary access to HealthFirst’s OnTraQ Compliance Manager, a proprietary management tool for medication and device inventory and dating, and better management of its emergency preparedness and safety, infection control and dental practice waste management requirements.

“We have in place a system to track the expiration date for each medication and device in a Sav-A-Life emergency kit and to replace it automatically. There will be no disruption to subscriber service, only improved visibility and management of medication and device dating,” said Don Cohen, DMD, Chief Compliance Officer of HealthFirst.
