Dr. Daniel M. Meyer accepts ADA Science Institute chief science officer position

Dr. Daniel M. Meyer will serve as the ADA’s chief scientific expert and thought leader.
The ADA Science Institute is pleased to announce Daniel M. Meyer DDS, has accepted the position of Chief Science Officer. In his new role, Dr. Meyer will serve as the ADA’s chief scientific expert and thought leader. He will cultivate stakeholder relationships and collaborative, evidence-based oral health recommendations for the public and the profession. Dr. Meyer’s role will significantly complement the ADA’s long-standing reputation as the premier resource for scientific and evidence-based information on oral health matters. Dr. Meyer will also provide consultation to the ADA Foundation on opportunities for scientific collaboration and continue to provide consultation services to the Federation Dentaire Internationale (FDI) World Dental Federation and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Dr. Meyer previously served as the Science Institute senior vice president, where he directed various programs and provided guidance within the Science Institute to address current and emerging issues. Prior to joining the ADA in 1995, Dr. Meyer was the director of clinical research and the executive officer at the Naval Dental Research Institute.

Dr. Meyer earned his DDS from Marquette University and his certificate in endodontics from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University. He is an endodontist and an active member in numerous professional organizations including the ADA, FDI, American Association of Endodontists, American Association for Dental Research, International College of Dentists and International Association for Dental Research.
