Introducing the new editorial director of DOMD, Kyle Summerford

Jan. 22, 2015
Kyle Summerford will be overseeing the editorial content of Dental Office Manager Digest, and he's reaching out to you, his peers, for input, ideas, and direction for upcoming issues during the next year.

Happy New Year to all of you who read DentistryIQ and Dental Office Manager Digest. I would like to take a few minutes to introduce myself as the newest addition to the PennWell editorial family.

My name is Kyle L. Summerford. I’m the newly appointed editorial director for PennWell's DOMD. I look forward to working with everyone. I’ve taken time to read many articles that have appeared recently in the Front Office section of DentistryIQ. Meg Kaiser has provided me with a lot of useful information and updated me on everyone’s awesome contributing efforts throughout the years.

I really don't want to bore you lovely people with my entire bio, so I'll make this as quick and simple as I can to give you a brief overview of my history. I’ve been in the dental field – including front desk, dental assisting, managerial, financial, and just about every aspect of dentistry you can name, except of course the actual drilling of teeth – for over 13 years. I currently own my own practice management company (Summerford Solutions Inc.), which provides business coaching to dentists. I engage in speaking events as a lecturer, and have been published on the front cover of Dental Economics, as well as a variety of other reputable dental resources.

I'm the newly appointed editorial director for DOMD e-newsletter, and I’m looking forward to making this newsletter a great success, with everyone’s help of course. I can’t do this alone, and this is why I’m reaching out to all of you. I want to make sure that we as a team make this an unforgettable year. I also want to make sure everyone who has contributed gets recognized for his or her input and efforts. This is why Meg and I are currently discussing new ideas to launch 2015 into a new direction.

We respect everyone’s years of hard work in the dental field and value your lifetime of experience. Your participation is vital to the life and success of this newsletter. Therefore, I ask you to kindly take a few minutes to answer two short questions below that will help us take DAD in the right direction for you, its readers. Send your answers to [email protected]. Thank you for taking the time to help us out!

1. How do you feel about monthly themes for topics of discussion?

2. What type of video clips would be of interest to you?
