The Westermeier Martin dental practice is pleased to announce it will once again host Dentistry from the Heart, a day of free dental care for the community. Low-income individuals are invited to the offices at 950 Main Street on Friday, June 19, to obtain free basic dental care. Services will be provided from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm on a walk-in basis.

Those wishing to be seen should arrive early. Last year, Westermeier Martin provided services to 105 men, women, and children who otherwise might not have received dental care. (Children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.) Some of the services provided in the past include examinations, X-rays, cleanings, fillings, and extractions.ADDITIONAL READING |Mission with prevention in mind: Charitable trip to Belize champions minimally invasive dentistry

The dentists, technicians, assistants, and entire staff will spend the day volunteering to help fulfill the unmet dental needs of the community.

“This is a special way for us to thank and give back to the community that our practice has been part of for three generations,” Dr. Westermeier said. “We look forward to helping as many people as possible this year.”

Over the past decade that Westermeier Martin has hosted this event, they have served 800 patients and provided $250,000 in donated services. Those planning to seek dental care are asked to pay it forward by bringing a canned good or other nonperishable item to be donated to the local food bank.
