On Sunday, May 31, it was announced that dentistry in New York could resume the following day. While this was a great relief to the estimated 15,000 dentists across the state, we quickly realized that reopening a practice is not as simple as flipping a switch. While I could begin to practice as of June 1, my office did not start treating patients until this week. We have new patient workflows to practice, team members who must find childcare services, and we have to build a schedule that prioritizes the most concerning dental needs of our patients.
Whether you have been practicing for a month or if, like me, you are just getting back to work, I am pleased to share the June issue of Dental Economics with you. While the print edition may not reach you for another few days, this digital edition is now available, and I believe it provides critical information for dentists that cannot wait.
