LONG ISLAND CITY, New York--Sirona plans to introduce the new HELIODENTPLUS Intraoral X-ray source at the California Dental Association's September 2009 session in San Francisco.

Sirona's newest intraoral X-ray system, the HELIODENTPLUS, is a compact,
ultra-light, intraoral X-ray generator for film-based and digital imaging. It was designed and built upon the experience of more than 150,000 installed units from Sirona.

The diagnostic requirements of modern practice were taken into account when designing features for the unit. The user can switch from the film-based to digital mode with the touch of a button.

The HELIODENTPLUS is designed to withstand challenging conditions. Its robust arm assembly is designed to fit any operatory. Various arm lengths provide stable positioning for taking intraoral images.

The various controller options also allow for flexible installation requirements. The vertical mount can be incorporated in pass-through and central cabinet installations. Furthermore, with a built in power regulator, the ELIODENTPLUS guards against power fluctuation.

Exposure times are selected by using tooth icons. Two patient size icons select exposure settings. The user also has the option of customizing the preprogrammed exposure times.

Two power settings are available: 60 kV for high-contrast images, and 70 kV for highly detailed images and a minimum radiation dose.

In connection with established Sirona digital sensors, HELIODENTPLUS
supplies digital images, and the SIDEXIS XG software displays these images in real time.

The California Dental Association's September Session will take place Sept. 11-13 at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco. Sirona Dental Systems will exhibit the new HELIODENTPLUS at Booth No. 338.
