Cefla Dental Group opens wholly owned NewTom U.S. division

Feb 7, 2012

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina--Italian dental equipment manufacturer Cefla Dental Group has announced formation of a NewTom U.S. division.

The new division will join Cefla Dental brands MyRay and SternWeber at the corporation?s North American

headquarters in Charlotte. This investment in the U.S. and Canadian markets will provide benefits to existing and potential NewTom users.

Traditionally, NewTom had been imported and distributed through ImageWorks/AFP Imaging.

“But now that this long-standing collaboration contract has ended, we are excited to bring distribution and support inhouse,”said Sergio Ghezzi, global managing director of Cefla Dental?s imaging divisions MyRay and

NewTom.

The joint operations of Cefla?s imaging brands NewTom and MyRay will be the responsibility of Vittorio

Belluz, executive vice president of Cefla Dental Group in North America.

“Our goal is to sustainably grow the NewTom U.S. business unit, and I strongly believe that the only way to do this is by creating Total Customer Satisfaction,” he said.

Management plans to draw on synergies from a combined service force and efficient, direct collaboration between the R&D and manufacturing teams in Italy and the U.S. NewTom community. Cefla North America?s 150,000-square-foot headquarters houses a team of service engineers, distribution and support staff, as well as a spare parts warehouse to meet and exceed customers? needs.

Together with his Charlotte-based team, Belluz says he looks forward to facilitating access to diagnostics for American maxillofacial patients.

Cone-Beam-Computed-Tomography is a compact version of standard CT imaging that uses a cone-shaped X-ray beam to obtain a multitude of radiographs that construct digital 3-D models of maxillofacial anatomies. Some of the advantages compared to traditional CT scanners are less radiation, faster scan times, and a more comfortable patient experience.
