DANB exams and certifications are recognized or required by 39 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Air Force, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Passing DANB exams and earning certification can make it easier for dental assistants to meet state requirements and easier to relocate if they should ever need to move to a different state in the future.
DANB’s RHS and ICE exams are components of theNational Entry Level Dental Assistant (NELDA) and Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certifications. DANB’s ICE exam is also a component of the Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA) certification. Dental assistants who hold DANB certification feel it’s a great source of personal pride and that it has several professional advantages.
