IRVINE, California--J. Morita, a leader in handpiece design, has expanded the TwinPower Turbine 45 product line with a non-optic model.

For clinicians using loops or a microscope, the handpiece offers a powerful option.

As with the original 45°, the handpiece's compact head is smaller than competitive units and provides access and visibility. It delivers up to 20 watts for smooth, efficient cutting.

Rear-facing exhaust vents direct air flow away from the surgical site for patient protection. With no suck back in the air line, TwinPower also provides contamination control. This is especially important in surgical procedures such as sectioning of third molars.

Its double-impeller rotor design, exclusive to TwinPower handpieces, delivers constant torque and controlled speed, even under high-load conditions. Other features include a head height of 13.2 mm and diameter of 10.5 mm, rapid braking within two seconds, and a ceramic- coated surface for improved grip and handpiece durability.

The TwinPower Turbine 45 Non-Optic will be on display April 30-May 2 at Morita’s cutting station (Booth #523) during the 2014 American Association of Endodontists Annual Session in National Harbor, Md.
