U.K. dentist Deborah Manger is taking her cooking hobby to a new level by competing in what I suspect is the British equivalent of something like Food Network's Cupcake Wars ... The Great British Bake Off.

Dr. Manger practices in the Daventry area, and we saw the article on daventryexpress.co.uk. She's competing against 12 other contestants on the BBC2 show. She beat out 14,000 hopefuls to land a spot on the show, in its fourth season. And I got a chuckle out of this. One of the judges is named Paul Hollywood.

Dr. Manger, who works for Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, will be featured on tonight's (Aug. 20) show. After it airs she'll be able to talk about her experiences. Like the U.S., reality show contestants are asked to stay quiet until their shows are aired.

"Despite the fact that I manage a fairly difficult job on a daily basis, I find it odd that I found baking in the tent so stressful," Dr. Manger said about her experience so far.
