In May 2006, the American Dental Association released its new Evidence-based Clinical Recommendations for Professionally–Applied Topical Fluoride and Professionally Applied Topical Fluoride (Executive Summary).
The Evidence-based clinical recommendations are developed through evaluation of the collective body of evidence on a particular topic to provide practical applications of scientific information that can assist dentists in clinical decision-making.
This is a great resource for clinical practices and it's top 3 evidence-based summaries:
• Fluoride Varnish comes out a winner
• 4-minute treatment time with trays is still the gold standard
• Difficulty substantiating between APF and NaF
It can be accessed on the ADA site, here is the link: ADA Resources.
