Education fellowship awarded

American Academy of Periodontology Foundation presents fellowship to Dr. Melanie Campese.

CHICAGO--The American Academy of Periodontology Foundation recently awarded an AAP Foundation Education Fellowship funded by OMNI Preventive Care, a 3M ESPE company, to Melanie Campese, DMD.

Dr. Campese is in the Master of Science in Dentistry program and is also pursuing her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Periodontology at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
The $15,000 Education Fellowship Funded by OMNI Preventive Care is intended to encourage academic periodontology as a career choice. It also draws attention to research in prevention of periodontitis.

"OMNI Preventive Care, a 3M ESPE Company, has a long history of partnering with great organizations like the AAP Foundation to help develop leaders of tomorrow, which further strengthens the dental profession," said OMNI's Jennifer Spresser.

Applicants for the award must be students in their first or second year of a U.S. periodontal postdoctoral program and their application packet must include a proposal for a research project.
