In an effort to become more effective at providing enhanced value and purchasing flexibility to the dental clinician community, Pentron has announced that it will now sell its entire collection of products exclusively through dealer distribution and will no longer sell products directly.

Pentron successfully built its business as a direct manufacturer over the last 30 years. However, to gain greater reach in the marketplace, the company has opted to undergo a change in its model and will now distribute solely through the dental dealer network.

"The customer intimacy that helped build the Pentron business will not change," said Adrienne Collins, Pentron's Senior Product Manager. "In fact, we are investing heavily in our customer care team. The only change dentists will see will be more support from the dealer rep and a new location from where the package is shipped."

The new distribution model is a big change for the company, but one they feel will help to streamline the purchasing experience and actually open up more flexibility and options for the dentists purchasing Pentron products.

Dentists can now order Pentron products in three ways:

  1. Dentists can simply place an order through an authorized Pentron dealer
  2. Orders can be placed through www.pentron.com. Pentron has recently updated the shopping cart to create an enhanced customer experience. The site now allows shoppers to choose a preferred dealer during the ordering process, and materials will be shipped accordingly
  3. Dentists can call a Pentron Sales representative by phone at 800-551-0283 (select option 4) from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST. The representatives are available to answer any product or ordering questions and can walk callers through current promotions and finalize an order through the dealer of the caller's choice.

The switch to distribution is not the only change taking place at Pentron, which has committed to a number of additional enhancements to its operations. The company will also focus on streamlining and simplifying the product portfolio to make product selection easier. To that end, Pentron will be eliminating some of its older materials and will focus on its newer and most popular materials.

Pentron is also implementing a new look to its packaging, believing a cleaner, fresher look to the product containers will help cut out the clutter and present the products in an easy-to-understand manner.

Lastly, Pentron recently launched Pentron Strada, a first-of-its-kind online resource and dialogue hub designed specifically for dentists. The interactive site has gone live at www.pentronstrada.com and contains open forums for discussions on a broad array of dental issues, as well as access to helpful dental practice tools, patient education materials, and problem-solving strategies.
