Three graduate from Trubyte's denture workshop

April 21, 2005
Sponsored by DENTSPLY, expanded complete denture bench program included instruction on concepts of anterior and posterior tooth arrangements.

Three dental professionals completed DENTSPLY Trubyte's two-day bench program titled "The Expanded Complete Denture Workshop," April 4-5 at DENTSPLY Prosthetics' York, Penn., Education Center.

Completing the hands-on course were Ellen Bostock, CDT, EMB Dental Lab, Windber, PA; Randy Servania, E&S Dental Lab, San Diego, CA; and John Cataen, Veterans Administration Bay Pines, Bay Pines, FL.

Each received instruction on concepts of anterior and posterior tooth arrangements. Areas of focus included the various anterior tooth moulds and their arrangement in the arch; the various posterior tooth designs and the correct articulator settings needed to achieve bilateral balanced occlusion with Trubyte posterior teeth; and personalized anterior set-up techniques based on facial characteristics, oral landmarks and factors of denture contours which benefit the patient.

The course will be presented again August 1-2 and November 14-15, 2005.

It is part of a year-long offering of removable prosthodontic courses presenting a wide range of basic and advanced education. The courses feature two and three-day instruction in proven, predictable techniques for tooth set-up, acrylic and monomer-free resin processing, and partial denture design, alloy casting and finishing.

Basic Procedures, Expanded Denture, Basic Partials, and Basic ECLIPSE® Prosthetic are also included in the schedule, as well as new courses in Esthetic Metal-Free Partials and Advanced ECLIPSE® Prosthetic.
