In the magazine's April 18, 2009, issue, the patent for the Root ZX apex locator was No. 65 in the ranking of the top 100 Japanese inventions. This list includes technology from all industries.

J. Morita is the only dental company with a product included on the list.

With a circulation of more than 100,000, Diamond Weekly is a leading Japanese business and finance magazine. It features reports on the economy, manufacturing, and industry from all around the world.

Root ZX was invented in 1992. It is an apex locator utilized in endodontic procedures and offers an accuracy rate of 96.2%. It is a top-selling apex locator.
