Soredex Scanora 3D with HD panoramic unveiled

May 16, 2008
System is designed to help dentists and oral surgeons improve diagnostics, shorten treatment-planning time, increase surgical success and improve workflow

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin--Instrumentarium Dental, Inc. unveiled the new Soredex Scanora 3D X-ray system with HD panoramic at the 2008 CDA Spring Scientific Session in Anaheim, Calif.

Soredex Scanora 3D combines a three-field of view Cone Beam with high definition panoramic imaging in a single system to produce anatomically correct images of teeth, bone and soft tissue plus high-quality panoramic images.

The system is designed to help dentists and oral surgeons improve diagnostics, shorten treatment-planning time, increase surgical success and improve workflow. Dental professionals will find the system especially effective for implant procedures, oral surgery and TMJ analysis. The entire treatment process can now be controlled at a single practice.

Currently other cone beam/panoramic systems on the market offer low quality, pseudo-panoramic images requiring dentists to purchase separate panoramic units to get the image quality they want. The Soredex Scanora 3D from Instrumentarium Dental has true panoramic imaging technology that produces the same high quality images that dentists expect from dedicated systems.

Instrumentarium has added a unique Autoswitch feature to easily change modes between high definition panoramic to cone beam without the need to change detectors or reposition the patient. Short scan and reconstruction times further increase ease and efficiency to make workflow as fast and efficient as possible.

In Cone Beam Mode, Scanora 3D offers three fields of view allowing the proper image volume to be selected for each specific diagnostic task. The field of view can be positioned anywhere within the maxillofacial area. The smallest view is 60 mm x 60 mm and is ideal for single implant operations, localized dental problems and TM joints.

The medium view--75 mm x 100 mm--is suitable when the entire dentition, including the mental and mandibular foramen, needs to be examined. The largest view--75mm x 145 mm--is the best choice when the complete dentition, both TM joints and upper cervical spine, or maxillofacial area with airways must be examined.

Resolution is also selectable. In 3D mode, Scanora 3D offers low-dose, fast imaging, suitable for most diagnostic tasks, or high-resolution imaging for the highest level of accuracy.

The Soredex Scanora 3D is a total imaging solution and comes with a complete 3D software package for advanced diagnostics and implant planning. Through DICOM support, the Scanora 3D system integrates with PACS and is compatible with most third party software, drill and surgical guide applications.
