May 20, 2010
Instrument is designed to work on soft, carious dentin with minimized reduction of sound tooth structure.
ROCK HILL, South Carolina--KOMET’s CeraBur K1SM instrument, designed to work on soft, carious dentin with minimized reduction of sound tooth structure, is now available in a larger 027 size. This new size joins seven others--010, 012, 014, 016, 018, 021, and 023 for right angle shank (204)--currently on the U.S. market. The CeraBur K1SM instrument is made of high-quality ceramic material and allows for tactile feeling. It informs the operator when it is safe to stop drilling. The instrument is recommended to be used at 1,500 rpm during slow-speed excavation. The CeraBur K1SM’s white working part offers users another advantage. It stands out better against the brownish shade of carious dentin than a carbide instrument. The instrument has a long life, resists corrosion, and is less likely to be affected by disinfection and the cleaning process because it is ceramic. Users are recommended to use nylon brushes for cleaning. Metal brushes may leave metallic residues on the ceramic material. The instrument is also available in a right angle long shank (205), and in kits 4547.RA or 4547.RASL; however, the 027 size is not currently available for the right angle long shank. For more information about KOMET USA or the CeraBur K1SM instruments, call (888) 566-3887 or visit www.komet-usa.com.To read more about KOMET USA, go to www.dentistryiq.com/index/display/article-display/5635945626/articles/dentisryiq/products/new-products/2010/05/new-shape_available.html.
