Vivaneers a choice for prep or no prep

April 18, 2008
Vivaneers are hand-waxed to shape ideal contours.

Vivaneers are a solution for patients who want to enhance their smile with no shots, no drills, and little to no preparation.

Porcelain veneers continue to be one of the most accepted smile enhancement techniques in dentistry today. Life-changing results can be delivered by porcelain veneers.

Made of ultra-thin porcelain capable of being pressed as thin as 0.3 mm, Vivaneers are hand-waxed to shape ideal contours. After waxing, the veneers are then invested and pressed with a pre-blended extra high-strength ceramic ingot that maintains a high flexural strength of 167 MPa.

Depending on shade requirements, Vivaneers allow for translucent shading for shade flexibility or opaque shading to mask dark underlying tooth shades. Because of their durability, Vivaneers also can be used for bonded full crowns.

They are indicated for cases where multiple diastema is present, when teeth are shorter than they used to be due to trauma or wear, cases with a loss of facial enamel volume, and cases in which the only goal is a "permanent bleaching" effect.

Vivaneers are priced at $123 per unit and require just five working days in lab.
