HONOLULU, Hawaii-- DentAppoint Patient Recall Services unveiled a personalized patient scheduling service at the 2009 annual meeting of the American Dental Association.
The new DentAppoint service is designed to assist dental practices in successfully activating patients that are overdue for hygiene and restorative treatment.
"We believe there is a significant demand for this type of service," said Michael Barrett, founder of DentAppoint. "Most dental offices have several hundred overdue and inactive patients on their recall list. The traditional methods of automated reminders and postcards are marginally effective. Besides, most dental offices don't have enough staff to perform the phone calls themselves during regular office hours. As a result, many practices are losing more patients than they are gaining."
The key to DentAppont's scheduling success is that "real" people are used for patient contact. Personal calls are made to overdue patients during evening hours Monday through Thursday, and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. These are days and times when patients are most likely to be home.
An advantage of DentAppoint is that appointments are booked directly into the office's practice-management software. DentAppoint integrates with major software vendors such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Practiceworks, Softdent, Easy Dental, Open Dental, DentiMax, and Windent.
The service provides dentists with weekly and monthly reports showing patients contacted and scheduled for appointments. Patient information profiles can also be updated, if requested.
"Our priority," said Barrett, "is to enhance the patient relationship."
DentAppoint promises to schedule at least 25 new appointments each month for a monthly fee of $599. This could deliver a return on investment of 9:1. DentAppoint complements any automated confirmation/reminder services currently being used, and is compliant with HIPAA patient privacy regulations.
