American Academy of Periodontology Hosts First Dental Hygiene Symposium

The American Academy of Periodontology is hosting its first dental hygiene symposium to update hygienists on the latest in
periodontics, which will allow them to better serve their patients.

Topics will include periodontal-systemic links, dental implants, patient care, chemotherapeutics, antimicrobials, oral hygiene aids, periodontal surgery, and dental trends.

The American Academy of Periodontology recognizes that dental hygienists are on the front lines of treating and educating
patients about oral health. This new symposium allows hygienists to learn how they can improve the care they provide by incorporating new technologies and information about periodontics into their daily
practice.

The symposium will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. � 5:00 p.m. in conjunction with the 89th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Periodontology, Moscone West Convention Center, 747 Howard Street, San Francisco, CA 94103.
