New comprehensive user's guide for CEREC

Chairside CAD/CAM dentistry has evolved tremendously since the introduction of the first CEREC system in 1986. Perhaps nobody knows that better than Drs. Mark Morin and Douglas Voiers. Having embraced CAD/CAM technology since its inception, Morin and Voiers recently pooled their experiences to write and publish "A Dentist's Guide to CEREC CAD/CAM Restorative Dentistry."

New comprehensive CEREC user's guide is the result of more than 15 years of experience with the revolutionary chairside CAD/CAM restorative system. Drs. Morin and Voiers pool their experiences to guide CEREC users in developing their skills for outstanding clinical success. For more information, call (248) 828-9989 or visit www.glecinfo.com.

FLEXI-TIPS no-stick composite instruments

AMERICAN DENTAL SUPPLY, Inc. introduces its new, autoclavable FLEXI-TIPS. FLEXI-TIPS are a unique hand instrument for applying and contouring difficult composites and cements. The instruments are essentially non-sticking — no need to coat them with modeling liquids to keep composites from pulling away. They are used directly for precise application and shaping of light-cured composite resins and cements. Even hardened materials peel off the silicone tips.

FLEXI-TIPS prevent demarcation lines in composite. The secret is in the resilience of the tip, which is similar to that of uncured composite. This allows materials to be modeled at their natural flow rate preventing flaws and air inclusions, and there are no brush hairs to get stuck.

The five tip shapes provide versatility, allowing layers of composite to be compacted, blended, and shaped into beautiful, dense, porosity-free restorations. The kit features two steel handles and two of each tip shape.

EagleSoft points way to record security

Patterson EagleSoft announces a fingerprint capture device for use with its practice-management and clinical software. The BioTouch USB 200 (Identix) fingerprint capture device eliminates the need for users to type a password when booting up. Simply place a designated finger on the device, which uses the fingerprint as a password and starts up the network.

Use the device to lock down the entire network or just a specific computer screen, and then log in with a touch of a finger. If you need to step out of the room and a patient record is on screen, it can be quickly locked, preventing others from viewing it. Upon returning, you simply place a finger on the device and the screen is unlocked.

For more information, contact a Patterson technology representative or visit www.eaglesoft.net.

Frequent washings with hot water and antibacterial soap strips skin and chemicals are directly absorbed, causing skin disorders or just dry, cracked skin.
