3M ESPE received the Silver Medical Design Excellence Award from the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society for the innovative packaging design of Prompt L-Pop adhesive system. Prompt L-Pop adhesive, recognized in the "Finished Packaging" category, is the only dental adhesive system with contents divided into two compartments that enables dental professionals to etch, prime and bond in a single step.

Before Prompt L-Pop adhesive came to the market, dental professionals relied on bulk bottles whose contents were subject to evaporation. Prompt L-Pop adhesives single-patient packaging eliminates bottles and makes cross-contamination a thing of the past.

"The single-patient packaging of Prompt L-Pop allows dentists to use a fresh material for each new patient, ensuring hygienic delivery," said John Gessner, 3M ESPE market development supervisor. "The packaging also has made it easier for dental professionals to etch, prime and bond in one quick step."

3M ESPE Prompt L-Pop Adhesive System has been demonstrated to provide a reliable bond between direct restorative materials and tooth structure. Dental professionals use Prompt L-Pop adhesive when bonding dentin and enamel to composite restorative materials and fissure sealants.

3M ESPE was honored by Canon Communications LLC, the publisher of Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry magazine and a trade show producer, at Medical Design & Manufacturing East Conference and Exposition in June in New York. The fourth annual awards program recognizes product innovation, design and engineering excellence, end-user benefit, and cost-effectiveness in manufacturing and healthcare delivery.
