DTI CQC Dental Prosthetics General Manager Bob Ingrassio CDT recently became the first dental technician to complete the Continuum I course at the nonprofit L.D. Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Fla.
The Continuum I course, which has been attended by more than 17,000 dentists, is part of a nine-course program designed to help dentists improve their skills and improve the way they practice dentistry.
"When I got the chance to attend the Pankey Institute, I jumped at it," Ingrassio said. "My passion is making crowns, bridges, and implants for the best dentists around. Anything I can do to learn about how to do it better will help me, my dental clients, and their patients."
Ingrassio has been a dental technician for more than 30 years. He founded CQC Prosthodontics in Rochester, N.Y., 20 years ago and sold the business to DTI Dental Technologies Inc in 2002. The laboratory employs a staff of 28, and specializes in cosmetic restorations, implants, and conventional bridgework prosthetics.
They serve dDentists through out New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Ingrassio takes more than 100 hours of continuing education courses each year to keep on top of the latest developments in restorative dentistry.
"What I liked about Pankey was the chance to see things from the Dentist point of view," he commented. "It's a unique position for a dental technician like me."
DTI-Dental Technologies Inc owns and operates premium quality dental laboratories across Canada and the U.S., and is actively seeking acquisition candidates in both countries.
