Happy Tuesday, folks!
Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg) is a highly-destructive oral pathogen that can drive dysbiosis, evade immune defenses, and cause tissue destruction.
But new data suggests gigantol, a plant compound found in orchids, has the ability to disarm the harmful traits in Pg instead of killing it.
If this approach proves effective in future research, it could represent a fundamentally different way of managing periodontal disease.
